Customers have the option to define recurring schedules and block hours for large, multi-location practices. A provider's schedule can be copied and applied to other providers. Scheduling features allow staff to manage exceptions and select a 5-day or 7-day calendar view.

Some PM systems also support billing electronically with NPI numbers and CMS 1500 (HCFA), UB and ADA (Dental) forms. The insurance eligibility feature allows the practice to verify that a patient is eligible for insurance coverage on a specific date.

Customers can define mandatory patient fields, look up a patient with multiple providers, and check eligibility for services quickly and accurately. When the patient visits are complete, summaries are quickly printed.

While it is possible to implement an EMR system first and then add the PM system later, COEMR has found that it is much easier for everyone to learn and begin using your new systems faster and more efficiently if both are implemented at the same time.
